Why Should You Raise Chickens?
The reasons for raising chickens are as diverse as the people who choose to take up the practice. You may choose to start to raise chickens for any combination of the below reasons:

- To sell eggs or chicks
Of course, you may just raise chickens for the love of the activity and the birds. Where Can You Raise Chickens?
As far as the US is concerned, every state allows the raising of chickens. However, you will need to check your city ordinances to make sure that your city and its zoning allow it. Note that some places will allow you to raise chickens within certain parameters. For example, New York City allows residents to raise hens with no restrictions— but not roosters — so long as the area is clean.
No matter where you live, whether you’re in the US or elsewhere, check your local policies on chicken raising. Also, consider the local climate and what that will require in terms of housing your chickens.
